Flip Side Vitex (Vitex x ‘Bailtexone’) is a hybrid cultivar of the Chaste Tree (Vitex agnus-castus) prized for its unique foliage and long-lasting, fragrant flowers. It features 8-inch panicles of deep purple-blue flowers that bloom throughout the summer and into fall, attracting bees and butterflies. The leaves are a standout feature, with their olive-green upper surface and a striking purple underside that becomes visible in the breeze. This cultivar is known for its compact size, typically growing 6-8 feet tall and 8-10 feet wide, making it suitable for smaller gardens and containers. It thrives in full sun, tolerates drought once established, and is relatively low-maintenance.
