Monterrey Oak (Quercus polymorpha), also known as the Mexican White Oak, is a medium to large, semi-evergreen tree with thick, leathery leaves that are dark green on top and have raised, lighter veins on the underside. It features a broad, rounded crown, rough bark, and produces acorns that mature in one year. This drought-tolerant and oak wilt-resistant species is native to Mexico and Guatemala, with a single known natural population in Texas, and is increasingly used as a landscape tree in the southwestern United States.
