Tex-Mex Redbud (Cercis canadensis var. ‘Tex-Mex’) is a fairly new, cross-bred tree, between a Texas Redbud, and Mexican Redbud.  It has been recognized for its heart-shaped leaves and vibrant pink to purplish flowers that bloom early in spring before the foliage appears. Naturally native to both Texas’ and Mexico’s diverse climates, it thrives in a variety of soils, showing resilience and adaptability. An easy tree to grow and adapt to your area whether it is full to partial sun or as an understory tree in dappled shade. This tree tolerates hot, dry areas once established, it has heart shaped waxy leaves that help retard transpiration. They grow 12 to 20 feet tall, and about 12 to 20 feet wide.

• Mature Size: Typically 10-15 feet tall and wide, but can reach up to 20 feet
