Little Gem is a dwarf southern Magnolia with smaller dark green foliage and a very compact narrow form than standard Magnolias. The large, glossy, evergreen leaves have rusty-brown undersides and produce very attractive, large, white, fragrant blooms. Grows 15 to 20 feet tall and 7 to 10 feet wide at the base. They have very fragrant blooms that mature late summer to early fall. Best grown in moist, organically rich, well drained loam type soils.
